A step towards a greener future
KPA Unicon will design and supply a fluidized bed boiler plant to Fortum in Kivenlahti in Espoo, Finland. This Unicon Renefluid bio boiler plant will replace a part of the existing coal-based heat production and produce district heating for the residents of Espoo.
The plant’s fuel effect is 49 MW and it can produce up to 58 MW of district heat. The plant’s efficiency will be nearly 120 % thanks to the flue gas condenser and heat pump. As fuel, the plant will use bio-based fuels. Construction of the plant starts in Kivenlahti in November, and the plant will be handed over to Fortum in 2020.

KPA Unicon supports Danone production facility in New Zealand aiming to achieve carbon neutrality

Bioplant to provide heating for the city of Kemi, Finland
KPA Unicon will supply Unicon Biograte bioplant for Kemin Energia ja Vesi Oy. Construction of the plant has begun in the industrial area of Karjalahti in Kemi, Finland in the fall 2019. The commissioning of the plant will be by spring 2021.
